Statistics: Business confidence rises in mining, processing in Jan

MOSCOW, Mar 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s January business confidence index increased by 2.7 percentage points in the mining industry and by 2.3 percentage points in the processing industry, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.

“The business confidence index reflecting the generalized state of business activity in December 2021 amounted to 2.7% in mining; 2.3% in manufacturing,” the service said.

The economic situation is considered favorable by 13% of the mining firms and satisfactory by 76% of the managers, in manufacturing by 14% and 75%, respectively.

Improvement of the economic situation in the next six months is expected by 20% respondents in the mining industry, and 30% in the manufacturing industry.
